Seanad Éireann debate -
Tuesday, 18 Dec 1984

Vol. 106 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Durcan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The exercise of administrative procedures in Circuit Court offices, in cases of District Court appeals where an appellant/defendant unsuccessfully appeals from a District Court Order of imprisonment, in not immediately issuing the necessary warrant, thereby allowing the defendant to remain at liberty for a period after the term of imprisonment has commenced.

I regret I have to rule that this matter is not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment on the ground that there is no ministerial responsibility involved.
