Before we take the Order of Business and in so far as the Dáil is not in session and this is our only opportunity, I think this House of the Oireachtas should express its abhorrence at the proposed hanging tomorrow morning of the South African poet, Benjamin Moloise.
Business of Seanad.
That is not in order.
It is a matter of such grave urgency in that the President of the South African Republic has rejected all appeals for clemency——
I call on the Leader of the House, Senator Charlie McDonald.
May I ask your guidance, a Chathaoirligh in relation to what procedures are open to me to seek an opportunity for brief statements to be made by all parties and Independents in this House objecting to the hanging?
I will discuss the matter with the Senator when I leave the Chair.
