Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 30 Oct 1985

Vol. 109 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Michael Lynch that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to exploit the completion of the extension of Saint Oliver's post-primary school, Oldcastle, thereby honouring the commitment given and approved by the Department of Education in 1969, when the Gilson school was amalgamated with the Meath VEC.

I also received notice from Senator Brian Mullooly of the following matter:

The position of those students in the National College of Art and Design who applied for and were accepted into a four year degree course in Art and Design Education, since it now appears that the College is not and never was in a position to provide this course.

I regard both matters as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Lynch's motion for today's Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Mullooly may give notice for another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
