Vol. 111 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Tom Hussey, that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The threat to sugar production at the Tuam and Thurles sugar plants in view of recent developments.

I also received notice from Senator Jack Fitzsimons of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to withhold the signing of the certification of completion for the River Boyne drainage scheme until further essential works are completed.

I also received notice from Senator Michael Lynch of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the provision of a new national school planned for Moylagh, Oldcastle, to replace the existing school at Gortloney, Co. Meath.

I regard the matters as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Hussey's motion for today's Adjournment and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Senators Fitzsimons and Lynch may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
