Wednesday, 19 Mar 1986

Vol. 111 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Jimmy Deenihan, that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The urgent need to the Minister for Education to sanction proposals for (i) the new school, Scoil Mhiceasmainn, Tralee, Co. Kerry, and (ii) the extension of Coolard National School, Listowel, Co. Kerry.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to allow local authorities, as an executive function, to deploy a greater proportion of the national road grant to the repair and renewal of the minor roads (county roads) network.

I also received notice from Senator Brendan Ryan of the following matter:

The urgent need for the Government to provide support for activities in Ireland in connection with the International Year of Shelter, 1987.

I regard the matters as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Deenihan's motion for today's Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Connor and Ryan may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
