Vol. 113 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Mark Killilea, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, that he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to accede to the request of the board of management and teachers of the Currandulla national schools, Co. Galway, to enable the amalgamation of the two schools there to take place in September of this year and that eight teachers be retained to take into account the special circumstances of the location of the two schools.

I also received notice from Senator Séamus de Brún of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to have investigated the proliferation of pornographic videos which is causing widespread concern particularly in Roscommon.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Mark Killilea as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. I regret I have to rule that the matter raised by Senator de Brún is not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment on the ground of involving amending legislation.
