Vol. 113 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Michael Lanigan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to give a commitment to ensure that the Irish Battalion of UNIFIL remain on duty in the Lebanon and to exert pressure at home and abroad on the UN to pay to Ireland any moneys due for service rendered with UNIFIL.

I also received notice from Senator Michael Lynch of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to outline the progress to date in the renovation work to the Garda barracks, Oldcastle, County Meath, since the matter was raised in the House on 20 November 1985.

I also received notice from Senator Thomas Hussey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the extension to Lavally school, Tuam, County Galway.

I regard the matters as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Lanigan's motion for today's Adjournment and it will be taken from 10 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senators Lynch and Hussey may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
