Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 16 Oct 1986

Vol. 114 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Alexis FitzGerald that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to review the decision to close the Royal City of Dublin Hospital, Baggot Street; the Adelaide Hospital and the Meath Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Helena McAuliffe-Ennis of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture to take urgent action to respond to the fact that Westmeath and Longford report the highest incidence rate in Bovine TB, and to address the reality that the disease has reached epidemic levels in parts of County Longford.

I regard the matters raised by Senators FitzGerald and McAuliffe-Ennis as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment.

I have selected Senator FitzGerald's matter for today's Adjournment and it will be taken at 4 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senator McAuliffe-Ennis may give notice for another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
