Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 3 Dec 1986

Vol. 115 No. 3

Business of the Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Thomas Hussey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to take steps in relation to the condition of certain minor roads which have seriously deteriorated since they were last repaired under the local improvement scheme.

I regret that I have to rule that this matter is not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment on the ground of lack of ministerial responsibility.

Before we take the Order of Business I wish to inform the House that a progress report has been received from the Office of Public Works about the repairs to the Chamber. The report will be considered by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges this evening at 5.30 p.m. Subsequently, the committee will inspect the Chamber. Any Member of this House may join the members of the committee for the inspection.
