I have notice from Senator Michael Higgins that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House to-day, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for clarification of the effect of drainage schemes in the County Galway area on the livelihood of small farmers in view of proposals to implement a charge for drainage to move from a direct labour to a contract basis and the imposition of a contribution for maintenance of the existing drainage schemes.
I regard the matter as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. or earlier if the business ordered is concluded.
