Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 30 Sep 1987

Vol. 117 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I propose that the House adjourn until 6.30 p.m. when we will take Item No. 3. We will not be proceeding with the Abattoirs Bill any further today.

Will the acting Leader of the House tell us when we will resume the debate on the Abattoirs Bill? We should remember that other legislation has been listed for next Wednesday. Will the Seanad be sitting tomorrow to continue with the Abattoirs Bill?

We will not be sitting tomorrow. We thought the Abattoirs Bill would conclude today and I cannot say if that Bill will be taken next week because other business has been arranged but we will do our utmost to deal with the Abattoirs Bill next week. I should like to remind the House that we will be sitting on two days next week.

I am anxious to know when we will be resuming the debate on the Abattoirs Bill. I had hoped that the acting Leader of the House could give us an indication of when it will be taken.

Sitting suspended at 6.05 p.m. and resumed at 6.30 p.m.
