Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 18 Nov 1987

Vol. 117 No. 14

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Maurice Manning that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to compensate the former employees of Irish Shipping Limited in view of his promise made in that regard in June 1985.

I also received notice from Senator Paschal Mooney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to clarify the position in relation to the British Nationality Act, 1981, in view of the widespread concern expressed by Irish citizens resident in the United Kingdom.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Manning and Mooney as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Manning's motion and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senator Mooney may give notice for another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
