Seanad Éireann debate -
Friday, 18 Dec 1987

Vol. 118 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Brian O'Shea and Senator Paul Bradford that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House, they propose to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to rescind his decision to abolish local health advisory committees, to ensure the continuation and development of Mallow General Hospital acute facilities and to insist that the necessary level of funding be provided to it.

I have also notice from Senator Patrick Kennedy of the following matter:

The abolition of An Foras Forbartha.

I have also notice from Senator Maurice Manning of the following matter:

The urgent crisis facing Irish Lights, including the loss of over 100 jobs and the close-down of lighthouses.

I regard the matters raised by Senator O'Shea, Senator Bradford, Senator Kennedy and Senator Manning as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment of this House. I have selected the motion of Senator O'Shea and Senator Bradford and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Kennedy and Senator Manning may give notice for another day.
