Vol. 118 No. 16

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Joe Doyle that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The urgent need for the Minister for Energy to implement in full the recommendations of the Cremer and Warner report.

I also received notice from Senator Philip Hogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to examine the serious consequences that her proposed change in the pupil-teacher ration will have on the pupils and staff of Tullow Community School, County Carlow.

I also received notice from Senator Gerry Reynolds of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Industry and Commerce to establish a wood pulp factory in County Leitrim.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the building programme on the new community school at Castlerea, County Roscommon.

I also received notice from Senator Katharine Bulbulia of the following matter:

The rapidly deteriorating ophthalmic services in the South Eastern Health Board.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Doyle, Hogan, Reynolds, Connor and Bulbulia as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Doyle's motion and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senators Hogan, Reynolds, Connor and Bulbulia may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
