Vol. 118 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from the Leas-Chathaoirleach, Senator Charlie McDonald, that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The cessation of school transport services to 11 children attending Ballyadams national school, County Laois.

I also received notice from Senator Gerry Reynolds of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Industry and Commerce to establish a wood pulp factory in County Leitrim.

I also received notice from Senator Paul Bradford of the following matter:

In view of the reduction of the annual State grants to the community development association, Muintir na Tíre, the need for funding to be provided from the national lottery.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the building programme on the new community school at Castlerea, County Roscommon.

I also received notice from Senator Nuala Fennell of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to indicate when allocations from the national lottery will be made to voluntary organisations.

I also received notice from Senator Joe O'Toole of the following matter:

The non-implementation by the Minister for Finance of the Gleeson report on salaries and conditions of senior civil servants and Members of the Oireachtas.

I regard the matters raised by Senators McDonald, Reynolds, Bradford, Connor, Fennell and O'Toole as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator McDonald's motion and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senators Reynolds, Bradford, Connor, Fennell and O'Toole may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
