Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 4 May 1988

Vol. 119 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator John A. Murphy that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The failure of the Department of Foreign Affairs to forward to the secretariat of the Inter-Governmental Conference a document submitted by the Campaign to Separate Church from State, alleging discrimination on religious grounds in the Republic, and directly relevant to the stated concern of the Anglo-Irish Agreement to bring about peace and reconciliation in all of Ireland.

I also received notice from Senator Paul Bradford of the following matter:

The proposed extension to the Patrician Academy Secondary School, Mallow, County Cork.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Murphy and Bradford as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Murphy's motion and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., or earlier if the business ordered is concluded. Senator Bradford may give notice for another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
