Vol. 119 No. 16

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Item No. 1 until 12.30 p.m. and to adjourn until 1.30 p.m. At 1.30 p.m. we will take Item No. 2. Last week it was agreed that, in conjunction with Item No. 2 we would take Items Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. On Wednesday of next week we will take the Companies (No. 2) Bill and we also hope to take the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Bill. We may sit longer hours next week in order to get as much business as possible done.

On the question of the Companies (No. 2) Bill, could the Leader of the House assure us that the Government amendments will be circulated in good time — and by that I mean tomorrow — so that we can work on them over the weekend?

On precisely the same point, as I indicated yesterday, I had intended pushing for a vote today unless we got some information on the Companies (No. 2) Bill. I am delighted to hear that we are taking it next week. The Minister, Deputy Brennan, gave a clear commitment that he would have the Government amendments circulated a number of days beforehand. We need them this week. Did I understand the Deputy Leader of the House to say that we were taking a number of sections and that it was not proposed to dispose of it next Wednesday?

Order of Business agreed to.
