Vol. 119 No. 17

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Brendan Ryan that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to respond urgently to the report of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals on conditions in Our Lady's Hospital, Cork.

I also received notice from Senator Dan Kiely of the following matter:

In view of recent allegations made by four employees in the Sellafield Nuclear Power Station the need for the Minister for Energy to make urgent representations to the British Government to have this power station closed immediately.

I also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The recent decision by the Minister for Finance not to reappoint a director to the board of Irish Life Assurance Company Limited.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ryan, Kiely and Ross as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ryan's motion and it will be taken from 10 o'clock to 10.30 p.m. or at the conclusion of business. Senators Kiely and Ross may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
