Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

When is it proposed to sit again?

I propose the Adjournment of the House sine die. We will come back and have a debate on the Appropriation Bill even though it is enacted as law at this stage. I wish the Cathaoirleach, Leas-Chathaoirleach and the staff of the House a very happy Christmas. I would like to thank the reporters, the press people and the various parties in the House and wish them all a Happy Christmas. I thank the Minister for his attendance here today and his attendance on other days. I wish him and his staff all the best for Christmas.

On behalf of my party I would like to extend Christmas wishes to the Cathaoirleach, the Leas-Chathaoirleach, the Clerk, Clerk Assistant and the staff, official reporters, press, staff of the House, the Whips and the Minister and his assistants who are here with us today. We have had a useful Oireachtas session. There was a spirit of co-operation in the House and we expedited the business to the best of our ability. I look forward to the next session. Once again, I repeat my good wishes of happiness, peace and prosperity for the festive season.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

On behalf of the Cathaoirleach and on my own behalf, I thank the Leader of the House, the acting leader of the Opposition, the Minister, the Clerk, Clerk Assistant, the official reporters, the press and indeed all those who work in this House and wish them the compliments of the season. May I take this opportunity of thanking my colleagues for the great co-operation and understanding they have shown to the Chair which is a very important part of democracy here. Hopefully, early in the New Year we will be able to be reunited with our permanent home when it will be much easier to organise and control the business in more comfortable surroundings. In the meantime, I wish you peace this Christmas and God's choicest blessings for the coming year. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
