Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 2 Feb 1989

Vol. 121 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Nuala Fennell that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to acknowledge that there is an obligation on the Government to give special financial assistance to haemophiliacs who have developed AIDS or are HIV positive through blood transfusions given prior to 1986.

I also received notice from Senator John A. Murphy of the following matter:

The recent large increase in the number of experiments on animals.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Fennell and Murphy as suitable for discussion. I have selected Senator Fennell's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Murphy may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
