Wednesday, 29 Nov 1989

Vol. 123 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Batt O'Keeffe that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The decision of Sandoz to locate in Ringaskiddy in County Cork.

I also received notice from Senator Pat Upton of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide adequate funding for the Multiple Sclerosis Centre in Bushy Park Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6 to ensure its long-term viability.

I also received notice from Senator Avril Doyle of the following matter:

The serious implications of the Bridge Project report for the Irish dairy industry and the urgent need for action.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matters:

1. The need for the Minister for the Environment to increase funding to enable Dublin Corporation to continue its programme of upgrading its housing stock.

2. The need for the Minister for Education to fulfil her commitment to the development of a new school in North Clondalkin for the students of St. Kevin's Community College who are in temporary accommodation.

I regard the matters raised by Senators O'Keeffe, Upton, Doyle and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter named by Senator O'Keeffe and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Upton, Doyle and Costello may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
