Vol. 124 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Liam Naughten that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health to outline any changes in his plans since 1 January 1990 for general hospitals, psychiatric, geriatric, community care services in County Roscommon.

I also received notice from Senator Pat Upton of the following matter:

The lack of adequate facilities for the assessment of teenage girls with conduct disorders who have been before the courts.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to increase funding to enable Dublin Corporation to continue its programme of upgrading its housing stock.

I also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The unacceptable delay in the processing of investigations by the Garda Complaints Board and the need for the Minister to allocate additional staff immediately thereto.

Tá fógra agam ón Seanadóir Pól Ó Foighil:

A cheistiú faoin chumhacht atá ag Oifig na nOibreacha Poiblí reimsí móra talún príomháideach timpeall na tíre uilig ach i gConamara go speisialta a ainmniú mar Cheantar Spéise Eolaíochta (Areas of Scientific Interest nó ASI's) gan stadas reachtúíl nó dlíthúil Eorpach nó Náisiúnta a bheith ag Oifig na nOibreacha Poiblí é seo a dhéanamh.

I also received notice from Senator John A. Murphy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to reverse the decision to withdraw field staff in the Ordnance Survey service.

I also received notice from Senator Mary Jackman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to give a specific date as to when contractors will be appointed for the building of an extension to Lisnagry National School, Richill, County Limerick, when work will commence and an approximate date for completion of same.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Naughten, Upton, Costello, Ross, Ó Foighil, Murphy and Jackman as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Naughten and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Upton, Costello, Ross, Ó Foighil, Murphy and Jackman may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
