Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 16 May 1990

Vol. 124 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Shane Ross that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to conduct a proper and orderly market in the Irish Government stocks which ensures that they are offered for sale to the public.

I also received notice from Senator Pól Ó Foighil of the following matter:

That the Minister for Health takes note of the complete lack of a proper service for the sufferers of Alzheimer's Disease and the lack of planning and commitment from the health boards for carers and respite programme.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to urgently provide permanent accommodation and proper facilities for the pupils of St. Aidan's Christian Brothers Secondary School, Whitehall, Dublin 9, to replace the present totally inadequate prefabricated structure which has been in existence for over 20 years.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ross, Ó Foighil and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Ross and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Ó Foighil and Costello may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
