Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 22 Nov 1990

Vol. 126 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Avril Doyle that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today she proposes to raise the following matter:

The present income crisis of Wexford share fishermen and their families.

I also received notice from Senator Patrick Kennedy of the following matter:

The relocation and development of St. Gabriel's school and clinic in Limerick for the physically handicapped on a site which has been acquired for this development joining St. Paul's school, Dooradoyle, and that the proposed development be part of the implementation of an overall plan for the provision of services for the physically handicapped in the area of the MidWestern Health Board.

I also received notice from Senator Liam Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to acquaint himself with the urgent housing needs of many local authorities, with the ongoing hardship to many families with the lack of housing being provided particularly in the Dublin area.

I regard the matter raised by Senators Doyle and Kennedy as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Doyle's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Kennedy may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.

I regret that I have to rule the matter raised by Senator Cosgrave is not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment as it is too wide and is more suitable for discussion on a substantive motion.
