Vol. 127 No. 12

Death of Former Members. - Expression of Sympathy.

Before we rise in silent tribute for a minute, the leaders of the other groups in the House may wish to support the vote of sympathy.

Yes, I certainly would like to be associated with the vote of sympathy to the late Fad Browne, whom I first met in the Waterford by-election of 1966. He was courteous and a gentleman and I would like to convey my sympathy to his family.

I formally ask that we be associated with the vote of sympathy. We did not work here with him but we are aware of the comments that have been made and would like to be associated with them.

I, too, would like to join in the vote of sympathy to the family of the late Senator Pat Browne. I did not know him personally but I was well aware of his reputation and of the work he did for the people of Waterford over a very long period.

I, too, would like to be associated with the expression of sympathy to the late Fad Browne's family. I knew Fad extremely well. He was a great friend to my own family and to Maureen and his family we extend our sympathy.

The House will now rise for one minute's silence as an expression of our sympathy to the families of the two Senators.

Members rose in their places.
