Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 2 May 1991

Vol. 128 No. 12

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Raftery that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to take effective measures to prevent the use of illegal drugs in beef production, in order to protect our beef sales.

I also received notice from Senator Upton of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to request the EC to act in consort with the rest of the international community to prevent the impending famine in Africa.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Raftery and Upton as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Raftery's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Upton may give notice another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
