Vol. 133 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have notice form Senator Ross that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to further extend the urban renewal scheme in Bray, County Wicklow and to extend the scheme to Wicklow town.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to clarify the proposals made by An Taoiseach to develop a deep water transhipment port on the Shannon Estuary; and to make a statement on the suitability of Foynes as a location for the port.

I also received notice from Senator Upton of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to outline the measures he is taking to deal with the recent problem caused by the toxic effect of cucumbers; the action he is taking to protect consumers; and the initiatives he is taking to deal with the difficulties this discovery has caused the Irish producers of cucumbers.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ross, Neville and Upton as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ross and Neville's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Upton may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
