Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 14 Oct 1992

Vol. 134 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Keogh that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to confirm his commitment and that of the Government to the development of Dún Laoghaire harbour and in particular its ferry services.

I received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to ensure that proper procedures, in accord with international human rights and natural justice, are put in place so that those seeking asylum in Ireland are humanely treated and their case fairly considered.

I received notice from Senator Kennedy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to give approval for the contract for a new reservoir and water tower at Castletroy, County Limerick.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to ensure that people employed on a part-time basis, on one, two or three days per week, receive a reasonable level of unemployment assistance.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Keogh, Costello, Kennedy and Neville as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Keogh's and Costello's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Kennedy and Neville may give notice another day of the matters they wish to raise.
