Vol. 135 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Neville that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to approve the Foynes Harbour Development Plan, 1992 to 1999; and to submit it to the EC for structural and cohesion grant aid.

I have also received notice from Senator Kelly of the following matter:

The need for Revenue sheriffs to take into account in their activities the preservation of jobs and the problems faced by small businesses.

I have also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism and Trade to consider the role of Bord Fáilte and the regional tourist offices after the enterprise boards are set up.

I have also received notice from Senator Sherlock of the following matter:

The urgent need to proceed with the reconstruction plans for Kilavullen national school, County Cork, in view of the threat to the health and safety of pupils and teachers arising from the present conditions.

I have also received notice from Senator Reynolds of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to establish an office of his Department in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, to deal with headage grants and other agricultural matters.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Toole of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to establish, on an experimental or pilot basis, a job sharing scheme for teachers.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Neville, Kelly, McGowan, Sherlock, Reynolds and O'Toole as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Neville's and Senator Kelly's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators McGowan, Sherlock, Reynolds and O'Toole may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
