Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 2 Jun 1993

Vol. 136 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Burke that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to give an up-to-date report on his reason for granting a permit for salmon following cages in the Annagh Bay area north of Achill Island.

I also received notice from Senator O'Sullivan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to proceed with the next phase of building at Limerick Regional Technical College following the completion of phase 1A scheduled for the end of June 1993.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to include in its regulation on health and safety in the Army, the regulation agreed between PDFORRA and the Health and Safety Authority in place of the wording included by the Minister which is totally unacceptable to Army representatives.

I also received notice from Senator Farrelly of the following matters:

The need for the Minister for Education to state if she intends to purchase a site for a second level school in Dunboyne, County Meath; and if funds will be made available in 1993 for the commencement of this work.

I also received notice from Senator Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Marine to investigate the oil spillage along the east coast with the resultant harm to wildlife and beaches.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Burke, O'Sullivan, Neville, Farrelly and Cosgrave as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Burke and O'Sullivan's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Neville, Farrelly and Cosgrave may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
