Vol. 137 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have notice from Senator Reynolds that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to allow the coal burning power station at Arigna, County Roscommon, to continue production until all the coal deposits in the area are exhausted.

I also received notice from Senator O'Toole of the following matter:

In light of gross underfunding of Irish primary schools, the need for the Minister for Education to ensure that primary schools be issued with free television licences or, alternatively, that a general national fee to cover a licence for each school be negotiated with the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications by the Minister for Education.

I regard the matter raised by Senators Reynolds and O'Toole as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
