Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Sean Maloney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide free travel for children from rural areas travelling to St. Joseph's School for the Blind, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

I also received notice from Senator Denis Cregan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to outline the present position regarding Irish Steel, in view of recent public statements.

I also received notice from Senator Michael Calnan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to make moneys available to the Office of Public Works to alleviate flooding from the Bandon River in the Dunmanway area in County Cork.

I also received notice from Senator Madeleine Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to outline the social and economic implications that will arise from the Government's decision to change the transatlantic status of Shannon Airport.

I also received notice from Senator Mary Henry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to outline the reasons for the delay in the ratification of Protocols 1 and 2 of the Geneva Convention.

I also received notice from Senator Paddy Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to upgrade to national primary status the routes from Swinford to Ballina, and Castlebar to Westport, County Mayo as a continuation of the N5.

I also received notice from Senator Shane Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to allocate more funding to Co-operation North.

I also received notice from Senator Paddy McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide funding for an extension of St. Columba's College, Stranorlar, County Donegal.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Sean Maloney, Denis Cregan, Michael Clanan, Madeleine Taylor-Quinn, Mary Henry, Paddy Burke, Shane Ross and Paddy McGowan as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Maloney and Senator Cregan's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Calnan, Taylor-Quinn, Henry, Burke, Ross and McGowan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
