Thursday, 18 Nov 1993

Vol. 138 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Roche that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to urgently clarify the situation regarding the extension of the DART system to Greystones, as work is in progress interdepartmentally on the operational programme giving effect to the transport proposals in the National Development Plan 1994-99.

I have also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to allocate more funding to Co-operation North.

I have also received notice from Senator Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to upgrade to national primary status the routes from Swinford to Ballina and Castlebar to Westport, County Mayo, as a continuation of the N5.

I have also received notice from Senator Doyle of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to urgently provide funding for the building of a multi-denominational school at Ranelagh, Dublin 6.

I regard all the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Roche's and Senator Ross' matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
