Wednesday, 9 Feb 1994

Vol. 139 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Daly that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to make a special allocation of funds available in 1994 to Clare County Council to undertake major remedial and maintenance works on the Ennis/Kilrush/Kilkee road in view of its importance from an economic and tourism point of view.

I have also received notice from Senator Bill Cotter of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to upgrade, as a matter of urgency, facilities at Knockconan and Derravoy national schools, Truagh, County Monaghan.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Maloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to extend the urban renewal scheme in the town of Letterkenny, County Donegal and to introduce the scheme in Buncrana, County Donegal.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Daly's and Senator Cotter's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Maloney may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
