I wish to clarify the situation in relation to the business of the House. On the Order of Business the Leader indicated that the Minister for Health would come to the House for statements on the hepatitis C issue at the conclusion of Private Members' Business and that those statements would continue for about 30 or 35 minutes. An extension of that time was sought by Members on all sides of the House and the Leader indicated that he would explore that possibility. I want to announce that those statements will now conclude at 9.30 p.m. I suggest that spokespersons will have seven minutes and other speakers will have five minutes each. Item 1 will not be resumed this evening.
