Vol. 140 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Cassidy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide funding as a matter of urgency for the Castlepollard Vocational School, Castlepollard, County Westmeath, to replace the existing outdated prefabricated structures.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to outline his Department's policy regarding air services to the midwest region, whose economy is highly dependent on a regular and efficient air service.

I have also received notice from Senator Farrelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to clarify the funding being provided for the water supply to Ashbourne, County Meath, as his Department's allocation to Meath County Council of £2.61 million represents 90 per cent of the cost; and if local householders will have to make up the difference.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Cassidy's and Taylor-Quinn's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Farrelly may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
