Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 4 May 1994

Vol. 140 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Henry that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to clarify the international status of "Winrho", the anti D immunoglobulin recently introduced to Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Maloney of the following matter:

In light of the serious financial situation applying in the Lough Swilly Company in County Donegal and the threat to the 90 jobs, the need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to intervene in this serious matter to either give a subsidy to this company or to initiate talks with Iarnród Éireann to guarantee the future of the services to the rural and urban areas of County Donegal.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Henry as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule the matter raised by Senator Maloney as not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment on the grounds of lack of ministerial responsibility.
