Wednesday, 1 Mar 1995

Vol. 142 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Byrne that, on the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Education when construction of Cahir community college, County Tipperary, will commence and if it will be included under the 1995 capital programme.

I also received notice from Senator Kelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to give approval and financial support to the concept of a Gael campus which combines a Gaelscoil and Gaelcoláiste in Newcastlewest, County Limerick.

I also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to outline the up to date position regarding the proposed marina for Greystones, County Wicklow.

I also received notice from Senator McGennis of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement regarding the inability of a child (details supplied) to secure a place in a special school for the last year and a half; and the action she intends to take to ensure that this child's right to education, as provided for in the Constitution, is provided.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to immediately grant funding to Limerick County Council to alleviate the disastrous situation of the regional and county roads.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Byrne's and Kelly's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
