Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 8 Mar 1995

Vol. 142 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Neville that, on the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to immediately grant funding to Limerick County Council to alleviate the disastrous situation of the regional and county roads.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Toole and Senator Fitzgerald of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make provision from the post primary building budget to support Cairde Coláiste Íde in Dingle in their proposal to retain Coláiste Íde in operation as an all-Irish girls boarding school.

I have also received notice from Senator Wall of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to outline the funding, framework of operations and rules concerning the home-help scheme as operated by the health boards.

I have also received notice from Senator Roche of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to make every effort to have a report by his Department's designated official into the affairs of the companies associated with the retirement village brought to a conclusion at the earliest possible date, and if he will make a full statement on the matter.

I have also received notice from Senator McGennis of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to purchase the site which has been reserved for a regional technical college in the Blanchardstown area, bearing in mind that a private developer has a two year option on this site.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Neville and O'Toole's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
