Vol. 142 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Maloney that, on the Adjournment of the House today, he wishes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to make funding available as a matter of urgency to Donegal County Council in 1995 for the upgrading of the fire stations in Milford, Buncrana and Letterkenny.

I have also received notice from Senator Enright on the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will register the births of persons (details supplied) in the Foreign Births Register.

I have also received notice from Senator Wall on the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to outline the action she intends to take on foot of the report on the code of practice for safety at sports arenas 1991 and the concern of all sporting organisations at this inaction.

I have also received notice from Senator Kelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to examine the possibility of transferring the Garda responsibility for Croom and adjoining areas (County Limerick) from Askeaton to Limerick city.

I have also received notice from Senator Roche on the following matter:

Recognising the widescale concern that exists throughout the country, but in particular, on the east coast at the ongoing operations of British Nuclear Fuels at Windscale, Sellafield, the need for the Government to publicly support, fund and seek to join in the further legal actions against BNFL's THORP plant at Sellafield.

I have also received notice from Senator Farrelly on the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment when he intends to allocate funds for the provision of a new fire station at Kells, County Meath.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Maloney's and Enright's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
