Vol. 144 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senators Neville and Rory Kiely that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, they propose to raise the following matter:

The need for the Government to locate the National Famine Monument at Knockfierna, County Limerick.

I also received notice from Senator Sherlock of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to consider the serious consequences of the discontinuance of full time GMS doctor service in the parish of Killavullen, County Cork, on the basis of an agreement between himself and the Irish Medical Organisation under circular 1/95 and 2/95.

I also received notice from Senator Enright of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to attend as a matter of urgency to the delays in completing building and reconstruction work at Mountmellick community school.

I also received notice from Senator Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to indicate the action he proposes to take to protect Irish citizens following the conviction of Nuclear Electric for breaches of the UK Health and Safety Act, arising from an incident at Wylfa Nuclear Power Station in Anglesea on 31 July 1993, and to make a statement regarding this matter.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Neville and Rory Kiely and Senator Sherlock and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
