Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 20 Dec 1995

Vol. 145 No. 17

Business of Seanad.

I ask Members to bear with me regarding a change in the running order of business today. With the agreement of Senator Dardis and Senator Fitzgerald, I understand the debate on the Appropriation Bill will not be overly long. The Members who have offered do not intend to speak at length. I ask the House to agree to take item 1 which was scheduled for this morning. It will not take long. Another reason for this request is that Minister of State, Deputy Coveney, is taking the Appropriation Bill and the Commissioners of Public Works (Functions and Powers) Bill and he needs time to brief himself on some of the amendments which have been put down. I ask the House to agree that the business today will be item 4 at 2 p.m., as agreed earlier, and item 3 immediately afterwards. Senator Kiely assured me Senator Dardis will not speak for long.

The Leader cannot be too sure of that.

The Commissioners of Public Works Bill will be taken immediately afterwards.

Acting Chairman

Is that agreed? Agreed.

Sitting suspended at 1.20 p.m. and resumed at 2 p.m.
