Vol. 147 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Manning that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The refusal of the Minister for Education to recognise, for incremental purposes, the teaching years of B.Ed. national school teachers at St. Michael's junior school, Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4.

I have also received notice from Senator Mooney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to include County Leitrim in the new third tier of extremely disadvantaged areas.

I have also received notice from Senator Honan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to outline the efforts being made by the State agencies under his aegis to ensure the retention of 130 jobs in Butler Engineering.

I have also received notice from Senator McGennis of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to outline the reasons the boys and girls schools at Scoil Bhríde, Blanchardstown, do not have a separate full-time remedial teacher.

I have also received notice from Senator Maloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to grant disadvantaged status to Scoil Cholmcill, Letterkenny, County Donegal.

I have also received notice from Senator Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht to outline the response of his Department to the archaeological finds at Kiltalown in west Tallaght and to report on the feasibility of a heritage park at this site.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Manning and Senator Mooney's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
