Vol. 148 No. 12

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Daly that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to act to resolve the dispute between the Department of Health and the environmental health officers which is causing a number of problems, particularly in relation to the granting of hygiene licences for commercial premises.

I have also received notice from Senator Reynolds of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to grant disadvantage status to St. Mary's primary school, Drumlea, County Leitrim.

I have also received notice from Senator Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to increase funding to the National Safety Council in order that a more intensive water safety publicity campaign can be launched this year and to ensure that all safety equipment is examined and well maintained.

I have also received notice from Senator Roche of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to outline the basis for the decision of the Department of Social Welfare to withhold funding from St. Fergal's Family Resource Centre, Bray.

I have also received notice from Senator Maloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to provide funding for the provision of a new sewerage system in Carndonagh, County Donegal.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Daly and Reynolds and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Cosgrave, Roche and Maloney may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
