Vol. 149 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Sullivan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to ensure adequate funding for health boards to maintain and develop the home help service.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

That the Minister for Education provide the necessary funds for the construction of a new national school at Cloontuskert.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide a new classroom, toilet block and ancillary accommodation at Kilmurry national school, Ennis, County Clare, and if she is aware of the necessity of having the finance for this project included in the capital building programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Enright of the following matter:

The need for the Government to introduce additional safety measures in relation to crowd control in view of the recent serious accidents at concerts and sporting events.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected Senators O'Sullivan's and Finneran's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Taylor-Quinn and Senator Enright may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
