Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 12 Dec 1996

Vol. 149 No. 14

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Kelleher that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to make a statement on the present status of the CIÉ site at Horgan's Quay, Cork; and if there has been any interest shown by people in purchasing and developing it.

I have also received notice from Senator Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to respond to a request from Clondalkin Chamber of Commerce concerning the need for the CCTV surveillance system to be constructed in Clondalkin village and that it be given priority in terms of her Department's budget and spending allocations for 1997.

I have also received notice from Senator McGennis of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to give a commitment for the construction of phase 2 of Castleknock community college.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Kelleller's and Senator Hayes's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator McGennis may give notice on another day of the matters she wishes to raise.
