Vol. 150 No. 17

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to outline the present position in relation to the application by Aeroflot airlines for fifth freedom rights from Shannon Airport to a number of US destinations.

I have also received notice from Senator Mulcahy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide the necessary funding to enable the repair of the roof and the complete refurbishment of the toilets at the girls and boys primary and junior schools at Sperrin Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12, given their unacceptable condition.

I have also received notice from Senator Manning of the following matter:

The refusal of the Minister for Education to recognise, for incremental purposes, the teaching years of B.Ed. national school teachers at St. Michael's junior school, Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4.

I have also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to fulfil her contract with the Dublin School of English and ensure payment of the £36,362 outstanding.

I have also received notice from Senator Cotter of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to appoint a remedial teacher under the rural disadvantage scheme to St. Patrick's national school, Oram, Castleblayney, County Monaghan.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected Senator Taylor-Quinn's and Senator Mulcahy's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
