Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 8 Oct 1997

Vol. 152 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Haughey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to explain the reasons for the ban on the export of bovine heads to Northern Ireland.

I have also notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts , Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to resolve the industrial dispute at the National Museum, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7.

I have also notice from Senator Caffrey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the reasons after three years of negotiations between Meiteal Mhaigheo, the IPTA and FÁS, no definite answer has yet been given by FÁS in relation to the establishment of the national auto training centre for Ballina, County Mayo.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Haughey and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Caffrey on the grounds of lack of ministerial responsibility.
