Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 23 Oct 1997

Vol. 152 No. 7

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to clarify the Government's position on the introduction of casinos to Ireland.

I have also notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to address the serious situation facing Nenagh Hospital in light of a current budget overrun of £374,000, in particular the intermittent opening of the Elderly Assessment Unit and the decision to place 12 nurses on continuing protective notice.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Costello and O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
