Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 4 Dec 1997

Vol. 152 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Tom Hayes that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to report the progress, if any, made following her meeting with Tipperary Town UDC, county council and local representatives regarding the attraction of new industry to Tipperary town.

I have also received notice from Senator Ridge of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to introduce regulations to provide for the control and regulation of obscene messages currently available on international calls.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Hayes as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Ridge on the grounds of lack of ministerial responsibility.
